About
This course is ideal for those who are new to hoof care, or if want to start your journey into barefoot hoof trimming. You don't need to have any previous skills or knowledge to join this course. On the course, you gain an understanding of how horses' species-specific needs and hoof care are connected, and learn the key principles of good barefoot hoof care. We teach you the key things about hoof anatomy, and show you in detail how to identify all common hoof issues such as flares, long toes, under-run heels and laminitis, as well as what steps you can take to start improving your horse's hoof health. After completing this course, you will be able to confidently assess your horse's hoof health, and have the knowledge to make positive adjustments to your horse's hoof care in a holistic way. This course is also the first step into learning how to trim barefoot hooves yourself, so if after completing the course you want to expand your knowledge even further, you can do so with us! This course takes eight weeks to complete. A new lessons opens up every other way, except when you're asked to complete and submit homework (for which there's a longer break before the next lesson). Check out the course overview for a detailed course plan. You get six months access to this course with a one-off payment. If after that time you wish to continue with access, you can join our monthly membership programme that gives you access to all the courses you have purchased, for as long as you remain a member. Course cost is $189 AUD, which is approximately 114€ / £97 / $125 USD.
