I’m not very confident or experienced yet, is this course too advanced for me?

Not at all. Our courses are designed to meet you where you are. We’ll guide you step-by-step, with plenty of visuals, examples and real-world demonstrations. You’ll build confidence as you go, and by the end, you’ll be surprised how much you know.

It's worth pointing out that our courses are not meant to teach you how to trim hooves in a professional capacity, but we do know that after completing our courses, many of our students have gone on to study more and have become professional barefoot trimmers. Our courses are a cost-effective way to dip your toes in the water, when figuring out if barefoot trimming could be your future career!

Are the courses easy to understand?

Yes, we create all our courses so that they are easy to follow and learn from. Our goal is to explain everything in simple layman's terms, and always explain the WHAT, WHY and HOW thoroughly.

How do I know this is the best place for me to learn at?

If you’re looking for a hoof care school, it can be hard to know which one is right for you. There are lots of different trimming methods, training styles, and even whole organisations that insist their way is the only way. That can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re just starting out and only know that you’d like to learn more about barefoot hoof care.

At Hoof School, we take a different approach. We don’t believe in rigid “systems” or one-size-fits-all methods. Instead, we teach you how to use your own judgement and common sense when it comes to your horse’s hooves. Why? Because every horse is different, and the person who knows them best is you.

You’re not alone. That’s exactly why the course is broken into short, bite-sized lessons you can watch anytime, on any device.

Many of our students fit it in between yard time or after work. You don’t need hours each day, just consistency. Even 15 minutes a day adds up to real results.

And, you can mark lessons as complete, so when you come back, it's easy to pick up from where you left.

What kind of results can I expect?

You’ll start seeing changes in how you see and understand your horse’s hooves almost immediately. Most of our students say they notice improvements within weeks of applying what they’ve learned.

Of course, the exact results depend on your consistency - but if you do the work, it works.

The course teacher, Minna, has used these principles during her 15+ year career as a professional barefoot trimmer, healing and maintaining the hoof health of hundreds of her client horses' hooves.

What if I get stuck or have questions?

Students on our trimming courses (Hoof Care Essentials, and One Step Ahead: The Maintenance Trim) have access to a private student group, so you'll will never be left on your own.

The group is your place to post homework, but also to ask questions, share photos, and get feedback from the team and other learners. Plus, we run regular Q&A sessions to make sure you stay on track.

Student on our short courses are always welcome to email us with any questions, as we are here to help everyone as much as we can.

Can I rewatch the lessons or go at my own pace?

Yes, absolutely. You get lifetime access to the course materials, so you can go through it whenever you want and as many times as you like.

You can also revisit specific lessons whenever you need a refresher - in fact this is highly encouraged, because the courses are pretty extensive and it's hard to remember everything with just one go!
